PRAYER FOR PROTECTION FROM EVIL
The Armenian Church Book of Rituals

May our Lord Jesus Christ rebuke you, you filthy and profane devil, because He came into the world and walked among us in order to make a mockery of your violent outrage, and free mankind (from your enslavement).

On the wooden cross He shattered to pieces all the opposing forces, when the sun was darkened, when there was an earthquake, the tombs were opened and the bodies of the saints were resurrected.

With His death, He exterminated death, and annihilated you, you who had reign over death, oh Devil.

I command you, in the name of the Living God who revealed the Tree of Life, and Who assigned the cherubim and seraphim with flaming swords as guardians around It (The Tree of Life). Be silent, and get away from this person!

I command you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! By means of us, it is He Who now commands you; tremble! get out and go away from this creation of God and do not return; go back to your abyss, until the arrival of the time of the torments prepared for you, the Day of the Great Judgment.

Oh most evil one, I command you by the saving sufferings of Christ, by His precious Body and Blood, and His fearful second coming; because He will not delay in judging the world and you and your cohorts, to torture you with the eternal fire, where the worms do not die and the fire does not quench.

For blessed is the power of Jesus Christ, the Father and the most Holy Spirit, now and forever and throughout all eternity.

Lord of Might, God of the Universe, Who dispels all pain and sickness and heals all diseases, look upon this servant and take away from him (her) all the influence of Satan.

Make the impure spirits tremble and pursue them, with Your immediate influence (ability), save this servant of Yours; under his (her) feet, suppress Satan, and against the opposition of him and his profane spirits, give your servant victory, so that with Your help he may be worthy of Your eternal undying gifts, glorifying You, the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, now and always and for ever and ever. Amen
